I received this quote from Brian Matthews of Axis Planning in Brisbane.

Brian attended our Business Blogging Workshop and has applied the principles to start creating high-value SEO for his website/blog while at the same time, doing i for others with a win-win approach.

This quote rings true to me. When I had employees, I would send them to training events, workshops and even walk on fire seminars with Tony Robbins.

About half of them would make the decision to quit whereas the other half stayed and helped us out-perform our competitors by a factor of 2 to 1. You do the maths!

Trump You are firedCancer kills you one cell at a time, so does a toxic employee. This is a friendly reminder that if you have a bushel full of apples and you place one bad apple in it – the whole bushel goes bad, not the other way around.

Whenever you have a ‘problem’ employee you need to pull the plug as soon as possible.

I say this because as the new financial year starts, you need to think of new beginnings.

New year, new destiny.

Sometimes tough decisions need to be made. Rewards go to those business people who are brave and courageous to stick to their vision, plans and goals.

If you have a contrary, toxic employee – you know it.

The question is “What are you going to do about it?”

Business Coaching Tip: Pulling The Plug Is Never Easy

Every once in a while someone needs to get fired. It’s distasteful, but it’s necessary. If you are grappling with an under-performing employee, contractor or supplier, you need to fire them as soon as you’ve given them all the chances and opportunities to change.

Oprah said it best when she said “When someone shows you who they are…. Listen.”

Simply put, if you’ve had enough – MAKE THE DECISION and move on.

Pulling the plug is never easy, I know. I am not one to jump to conclusions, but EVERY TIME, with hindsight – you ALWAYS wish you had done it sooner.

Napoleon wisely said “95% of problems solve themselves. The other 5% need QUICK attention because they are costing you a fortune.”
