  • Understanding my clients is one of the most important aspects of what I do in custom designing and making handcrafted jewellery. My clients need me to be a great listener and expect to see that I have understood their unique and individual needs in having a bespoke piece of jewellery commissioned. Otherwise the whole thing goes pear shaped and if I get the design brief wrong there is no easy way to go back a few steps to right the wrong, its generally a matter of starting again which is costly…

On the flip side making sure I am understood by my suspects, prospects and client in my communications is even more important. I have a very specific target market and if I miss in my copy writing and communications then I end up attracting the wrong person which on top of costing me money for bad or ineffective copy cost me time that I could be spending with the right people.

As you said above it all comes down to the art and science of clear communication.

  • The caption of the image made me laugh but it’s the truth and really a serious matter when it comes to your clients. Understanding has a lot to do with the business, one of the most essential factor and I agree with your statement. Keeping records and great meetings will also do.

  • Understanding your clients is one thing, them understanding you is another! Something that we, at times, struggle with.
    Loved the caption, so true.
