Lean In – to your business and/or career

Lean In by Cheryl Sandberg is one of the best books I have read in a long time. I suggest you click on the image below and if you have a Kindle, iPad or iPhone with the Kindle App (it’s FREE), download the FREE sample.

I have blogged extensively on women in business and what makes female entrepreneurs successful. I strongly recommend this book to anyone who wants to help women succeed in their careers and business. I originally thought it might be a feminist manifesto, but I was pleasantly surprised how we she was able to address this topic with grace, elegance and no sign of extreme “activism”. It’s a point of view that needs to be heard and digested by both men and women.

  • This is a fantastic book and I just finished reading it. It is extremely well written, easy to understand and Sheryl has shared her own experiences in a way that helps to understand them from her perspective.

The take away for me as a male, is that to really lean into your career, you have to eventually start to do things you would do if you weren’t afraid. SO that seems to be a constant regardless of gender.

It certainly has given me some things to think about. I’ve been convinced for a while that one of the weaknesses in the technical industries is the lack of top level female peers and this book has added to my conviction about that.
