Lead generation the easy way

Today’s blog post is special. I know you hear that a lot, but bear with me and determine for yourself if what I  reveal below is valuable, maybe even priceless for you.

In today’s world, we know you have to be online to get new leads and you have to have a preeminent presence NOT to lose the sales that are on their way to you. I know it sounds harsh, but if your website sucks, prospects are going to avoid you, simple as that. Prospects who were considering purchasing from you will now buy from your competitor.

That’s pretty obvious, but so is lead generation – but then again is it really?

The fundamental building block of online lead generation is Search Engine Optimisation (SEO). The problem is how to do it EFFECTIVELY and EFFICIENTLY.

Effectiveness comes from doing the right things and efficiency from spending the least amount of time, effort and/or cost doing it.

If you want to generate more leads, you need to optimise your SEO. This is one of countless strategies we teach.

Let me detail it for you so you can see how effective and easy it actually can be.

  1. I came across a Funny Puppy Video that a friend sent me, knowing I love dogs.
  2. I sent it to one of my clients, Bree Robbins of Paddington Pups in Brisbane.
  3. Sent posted the video on her blog about dogs, to optimise her SEO for the keywords she wants to be listed for in Google.
  4. She linked back to me for the words I wanted to be listed for in Google, they are the hyperlinks words in her blog post.
  5. I get 3 high-value backlinks from a well ranked (PR 3) website.
  6. She gets a great video that will be watched by her devoted, dog-loving clients.
  7. Her SEO will go up as more people watch the video.
  8. The value of my links will go up as her blog post increases in value in Google’s index.

This is a win-win-win strategy – totally exponential. Quick, easy and FREE.

  • Bree wins because she gets great content for her blog with SEO value-add.
  • I get valuable backlinks to my sites.
  • Bree’s clients get access to a video they probably would not have found on their own, this creates goodwill and reinforces their relationship with Paddington Pups.

How does this generate new leads?

With on-going strategies like this, Google starts to recognise we are dynamically involved and as such we get rewarded with higher ranked listings – for the words and phrases we have optimised.

This means we will come up organically in search results and THAT creates more leads for both of us. Admittedly, this takes time, but if you want to dominate your space in 12 months from now, this is THE way to do it.

If you rely on keyword stuffing and quick SEO strategies that are being promoted by countless companies “guaranteeing you page 1 listings” – BEWARE of two things:

  1. You might get  to page 1 very quickly, but then if it’s not supported properly, you will probably fall right back off just as quickly. That means you have to KEEP PAYING to stay there!
  2. If you do get to page 1 quickly, you might get penalised by Google if your supplier uses “black hat” strategies that are deemed “artificial”. This could be disastrous, depending on how aggressive they were to get you there. If they cross the line, you end up paying the price, which not many people are aware of!

They are all designed to stand the test of time because the last thing you want to be doing is re-inventing the wheel over and over and over again – because of ‘get rich quick” approaches. Here’s the metaphor I want to remind you of – Remember the bear on the product description page?

Most people worry about out-running the bear. That is costly and totally unnecessary. All you need to do is out-run your competitor. Be on top of the listings, on page 1 rather than page 2.

Here’s why you read all of this and are on this “last” paragraph… Here is the most valuable distinction —> The best thing about what we teach is that your competitor will NEVER KNOW what you’re doing, will never be able to counter-act your strategies and will REMAIN in that forest forever. You will never again step into that forest, never again be eaten by that bear. That is what you will appreciate the most from the strategies we teach… Peace of mind without compromising results – instead you will be IMPROVING your results, quietly and without fanfare.     Thank you for all your great work and assistance for me.
    I have a question for you.
    Why do you use the paradigm of “competitor” in your thinking? This is a very ancient and adversarial paradigm and way of being and thinking isn’t it Marc?
    If you refer to the ” The Science of Getting Rich” then Wallace Wattles says that the competition mindset is a very base and low level.
    Would you agree?

      Thank you for your comment.

      The use of competitor is realistic and pragmatic. Everyone has competitors and ignoring the obvious is not something I encourage.

      I am all for “transformational vocabulary” and having a “Positive Mental Attitude”, but not at the cost of obscuring the day-to-day reality business people need to deal with and reconcile within themselves.

      That being said, all of this is being discussed within a philosophy that the only real competitor should be one’s self. The ultimate goal is to become the best “you” you can be. When that happens, competitors are no longer a threat let alone an issue.
