Browser Usage Poll

I’ve already blogged about Linked In Polls, but since it’s quick, easy and free – it’s worth reminding you to consider polling your clients and asking them questions that your other clients might be interested in. This poll for example is interesting because I am not a user of Google Chrome and didn’t think that many people were using it. Of course this is a VERY small sample, but still surprising. What I really like about the Linked In Polls is their outstanding graphics… Don’t you agree?

As you’ve come to expect from me and my blogs, I come at things from a different perspective and paradigm. My goal for my blogs is to be the catalyst for ideas that can help you grow your business. The Internet is an exponential tool that can help in countless ways. Today’s post is another example – using tools like Linked In Polls to gather valuable information.

It’s pretty self-explanatory and that’s OK.

Exponential Internet Marketing is not rocket science. It’s all about “doing stuff” that works and having the discipline to follow up and follow through.

Facebook A Mirror To The World

I need to say this – Social Networking sites are a mirror of who you are to the entire world. I know you think it’s private, but it’s not. I don’t have time to get into the details, other than to say that the image you project on these sites can be killing your career, business and sales. I just can’t believe the stuff people post on there. Without naming names, there are a handful of people that I have seen post stuff that has totally ‘turned me off’ and in one case lose total respect for that person. I thought she was a professional only to have her reveal herself as an infantile, insecure and self-absorbed person that I would never want to be associated with.

I realise that this is an extreme case, but others are destroying what little ‘persona’ and brand they have by offending or otherwise diluting any social equity they might have built up – then they wonder why they are unemployed or otherwise struggling in business or their careers…

That’s all I really have to say about it in a public forum like this – I just needed to get that off my chest – I’ve just seen too many examples in the past 2-3 weeks to stay silent.

Linked In: How Not To Make a Request

I got this request from a Linked In connection and wanted to share it with you to show you how NOT to do this, if you want a response…

Linked In Request to Meet

Linked In Request to Meet

This is a very nice ‘traditional’ invitation, but it’s all about her – nothing about what she brings to the table. Unless she can answer two questions, there’s no meeting that will take place.

What’s in it for me and what’s in it for my clients/contacts?

If…

  • She lived in a 100% green house that actually put electricity back into the power grid and wanted to share that with us – “I’m there”. I’d love to learn more strategies to be environmentally conscious.
  • She was a former Olympic Athlete who is still competing, I would be interested to learn tips and tricks to extend my athletic career and improve performance.
  • She has a blog or website that is making money in a specific niche, I’m interested to sit down, have a chat and learn what she’s tested that has worked and not worked.

I have no idea if she is any of these things, but I’m not going to meet with her just because she’s in Sydney – it doesn’t work that way – not in my world.

Your time is valuable – if you give it away to anyone who asks for it, no wonder you’re stressed out and overwhelmed…

Without getting on my soap box about value of time, this is about how NOT to ask for an invitation to meet on Linked In, if you want to meet people who are WORTH MEETING.

Anyone who answers this request is doing it for social reasons – not business, to think otherwise is fooling yourself. It’s no different than all those ‘meet and greet’ cocktails, breakfasts and lunches – the TIME spent going, attending and returning rarely, if ever, justifies it – UNLESS the presentation on its own is that good.

Interesting, but those networking ideas are for another day. This request came to me and before I deleted it, I thought I should share it with you.

Linked In: Gets you FREE traffic!

You might have read this in a recent e-mail, but it’s worthy of repetition here.

  • The easiest and quickest way to start getting MORE FREE TRAFFIC to your website is to link in to my LinkedIn network. Go to www.LinkedIn.com and invite me to join your network. By doing that, you will INSTANTLY get over 1 MILLION CONNECTIONS. Connections are people who will begin to be aware that you exist and that you have products and services to offer.
  • I just cut and pasted this from my LinkedIn.com profile today: Your profile has been viewed by 11 people in the last 12 days. In the last 2 days, you have appeared in search results 14 times.” Just so we’re clear, this is an average of 7 people/day x 365 days = +/- 2,500 people PER YEAR who are seeking information about me and what I have to offer. It’s a bonus when people sign up for our Silver Internet Mastery Momentum Membership. BUT I DON’T WANT TO SELL YOU ANYTHING TODAY – I want you to know that this stuff works and you can get started right now for FREE.

Today’s post is about realising that when you take action, you create momentum that takes on a life of it’s own… It’s almost like magic.

When Google and the other search engines get involved, you have their power working for you and that is truly exponential — and EXCITING don’t you think?

If you haven’t linked in to me yet, please do it now. Time is money and 2,500 people want to consider buying from you…

Onward and upward!

P.S.

Sometimes I think I sound like a broken record, but so be it.

This stuff is really not that hard – you just have to ‘do stuff’.

I know there are only 168 hours in a week and that everyone’s pulling at you in a million directions. I get that, I really do.

I also get that an Exponential Mindset™ by definition necessitates LEVERAGE.

Using tools and techniques such as LinkedIn are massively exponential BECAUSE THEY ARE FREE which gives them INFINITE ROI (anything divided by 0 = infinity!)…

That is not just semantics. BUILDING an Internet empire on a shoe string budget is many peoples’ dream, but only a few ever reach the summit of profitability…

Go on and link in to me and see what happens!

Linked In Strategy You Might Not Know About

Today’s post is about a little known Linked In tool you might want to consider, it’s called the Reading List – it’s a list of books that you’re reading that LinkedIn maintains within your profile. With a 5,000 word comment field, I am sure there is a lot that can be done with it.

I am currently testing it with my first submission with a blatant self-promotional comment that I will edit later on.

I often take notes and extract distinctions that I could quite easily place here and refer to – the question is whether or not LinkedIn will make it easier to access that list in the future…

For the time being, this is a ‘new’ option to consider if you’re looking for that extra 1 percent improvement.

If you don’t know what www.LinkedIn.com is, you really need to subscribe to one of our Memberships, you can start off with the least expensive program, the Internet Mastery Silver Momentum Membership for $97/month simply because NOT knowing this is costing you MORE than $97/month in lost sales, leads and FREE traffic.

P.S.

If you’re keen to improve by MORE than 1 percent, you’ll want to check out another Linked In strategy I highlighted on www.AustralianBlogs.com.au that explains how to post your blog on www.Linkedin.com.

As you can well see, each 1 percent improvement on its own is quick and easy. The thing is that it all adds up to FREE traffic that ends up buying from you BECAUSE they know you exist and have something of value to offer.

If they don’t find you, they can’t buy from you.

FREE Strategy To Get To The Top Of Google Rankings

Today’s Internet Marketing Strategy is an indirect strategy that COMBINED with others becomes exponential.

First, it’s important to accept that no SINGLE STRATEGY works in isolation.

Second, without MULTIPLE strategies an EXPONENTIAL outcome is unlikely.

Third, FREE strategies require regular maintenance and monitoring. Today’s is no exception.

I have written about LinkedIn before.

Linked In is a PROFESSIONAL networking site that now has more than 20 million subscribers.

Subscriptions are FREE.

That’s right FREE.

In the Internet Mastery Programs, we teach how you can get to MILLIONS OF CONNECTIONS, but that is not the topic for today.

Today’s strategy is about first getting ON Linked In and once you’ve done that and invited as many people as you can to connect with you, to ENDORSE the people you have been positively influenced by.

By doing so, you create a strong LINK to people who are well connected and as such have a HIGHER ‘ranking’ than you.

By doing this, you create a POSITIVE ATTRACTION effect that you know works from the DVD “the Secret”.

More importantly, this is ONE of the many FREE strategies that increases your rankings INDIRECTLY, but effectively.

On its own, it has little or NO VALUE/EFFECT.

Combined with several other strategies, it adds the 1% that can start to make ALL the difference.

This is another example of antimimeticisomorphic behaviour.

Doing out-of-the-ordinary things that producte extra-ordinary results and profits.

If you know me and want to endorse me, I will reciprocate if I know you.

If you read that last sentence again, you’ll realise that many people will not endorse me without the promise of a reciprocal endorsement…

Many = MOST = mimeticisomorphic people.

Not you – YOU understand the ANTI in antimimeticisomorphism.

The OPPOSITE OF.

YOU want the results others dream of…

YOU know what to do – endorse me if you know me…

View Marc Dussault's profile on LinkedIn

If you need an incentive to endorse me – I am connected to HALF the world’s Linked In subscribers.

Onward and upward!
Marc

P.S.
This is an INDIRECT strategy that can start to make a BIG difference in your rankings and exposure on the Internet.

Most importantly though, it’s about what I call the Exponential Mindset.

Thinking this way BY DESIGN will make a difference.

Acting by DEFAULT will not.

Go on, endorse me if you know me, if not, endorse someone else who has helped you, inspired, coached or mentored you in some way.

See what STARTS to happen.

Best of all, it’s FREE!
