Webinar Secret #1

Today’s post is a 27 second YouTube video that reveals a webinar secret.

YouTube Tip: Other People’s Videos – An Example

Last week, I mentioned in my blog that you should leverage other people’s youTube videos. I’ve since realised that I should lead by example and show you what I mean by leveraging someone else’s video – in this instance it’s Paul Telling, T-E-L-L-I-N-G’s video.

YouTube Tip: Use Other People’s Videos

This example is ideal because it triangulates a lot of VALUE for you. First of all, you need to know who Paul Telling is. He’s an amazing graphic artist, client and friend. You can access his website at the hyperlink above. He was also a participant at our inaugural edition of the Unleash The Speaker Within event.

By telling you about Paul, I am also creating a series of hyperlinks for you to see what we’re all about, I Kall them Killer Konversations – part of the Killer Kopywriting System I’ve developed.

Of course Paul has attended the Killer Kopywriting Workshop…

But getting back on track – Paul attended Unleash The Speaker Within and this was his final performance:

Paul Telling’s Testimonial about the Unleash The Speaker Within event is below:

And now for HIS video… that I have embedded here for you: It’s an exercise as part of the Professional Protege Program that encompasses the Unleash The Speaker Within event…

YouTube Tip: Use Other People’s Videos

In my previous post, I mentioned that YouTube reached 1 billion views/day… What can you start to do NOW to start leveraging this incredible Internet Marketing tool?

YouTube Tip #1: Use other people’s videos

That’s right, embed their videos on your blog and/or website. Each time someone watches the video on YOUR site, YOU get the Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) benefit. If the video is 1 minute, you get one visitor staying on your page for 1 minute. That is a substantial amount of time – don’t try to get longer videos, research has shown that less is more – more people will watch shorter videos. Only use longer videos for education and information to EXISTING prospects and clients.

To use their videos, you just need to cut and paste the embed code on the right hand side of the video on the YouTube page. It’s that simple – if you don’t know what I’m talking about – ask your webmaster, he/she will know. If not, get someone else to help you with your website.

Yes, I can hear you all the way here – THIS IS TOO SIMPLE.

I know – that’s why so few people do it… Go on, take a look around and see for yourself – MOST PEOPLE ARE NOT DOING THIS.

It’s called the 1 percent improvement doctrine… You know all about it from my videos below:

Video Marketing: Less Is More

Today’s post is brief – in fact REALLY SHORT because according to recent research (source unknown), online video attention spans are shockingly short. Take a QUICK look at the chart below so that the next time you set out to create a YouTube video – don’t waste too much time creating your masterpiece… Most people won’t watch it to the end!

Online Video Attention Span Statistics

Online Video Attention Span Statistics

Just to hammer this point home:

Online Video Statistics:

  • 1 in 10 people don’t even give you 10 seconds before they switch off.
  • About half will give you a full minute before abandoning the video.
  • 9 out of 10 are gone within the first 5 minutes.

That basically means UNLESS your audience is SPECIFICALLY TARGETED, your videos won’t be watched for very long, hence – LESS IS MORE!

100,000 YouTube Video Views

Believe it or not, I am about to cross the 100,000 YouTube Video views threshold… I’m at 97,961, no make that 97,962… If you haven’t been to my YouTube Channel, go on and check it out Dr Marc Dussault’s YouTube Channel.

Of course you can always SUBSCRIBE to my channel and get my videos as soon as they’re uploaded so you don’t miss any of them – did you know I have 54 videos?!?!

I will have close to 100 by the end of the year, each one focused on Exponential Growth Strategies…

My latest is how to get people to automatically buy from you.

Thanks for helping me get through the 100,000 level – it’s very exciting to think I just launched my first video less than 18 months ago (January 23, 2008).

Make that 97,963 views…!

A Really Cool YouTube Tip

Ever worry about sending someone to a YouTube video and wishing you could get them to start viewing it at a pre-set point so they get the message you want them to get right off the bat and not have to ‘wait’ for it?

Well guess what? You can do juts that with this little-known YouTube Tip sent to me courtesy of Nick Schoonens of www.Marketing-Results.com.au.

When you start to develop multiple conversations with different clients and prospects, you’ll want to optimise this when it’s really worth it.

You can specify the minutes and seconds of the start time like this:

add #t=3m03s to the end of the URL to start at 3 minutes and 3 seconds into it:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5705zVMSEqEI#t=3m03s

add #t=5m58s to the end of the video URL to start playback at 5 minutes 58 seconds:

Onward and upward!

P.S.

People’s attention spans are getting shorter and shorter – people will appreciate it if you queue up your YouTube videos for them in advance… Especially if they’ve never seen that before!

Marc,

Just before I flew out of NY, I bought an amazing little product called flip video and I instantly thought of you.

Basically it is a small and light, dedicated pocket sized video camera that shoots video in YouTube format, compatible with both PCs and Macs but the beauty is that you can hook it up to a computer via the built-in USB stick that also recharges it! holds about 1 hour of footage and has a 2 x optical zoom.
